Hazmat Specialist

Hazmat Specialist position requires applicant to be experienced working with and around dangerous goods including flammables, corrosives, and oxidizing chemicals. Applicants would be responsible for auditing outbound truckload, LTL, and parcel shipments for DOT/IATA compliance. The auditing process would include safe packaging, proper labeling, truck placarding, and confirmation of associated documentation attached to the BOL. Applicants would work closely with on-site management, shipping staff, and the corporate Quality Assurance Manager to ensure a safe, accurate, and compliant work environment. Position requires the ability to operate forklift trucks as needed, audit completed inbound & outbound paperwork, perform periodic housekeeping, and other duties as directed in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Previous experience working with dangerous goods is required. Existing 49CFR training and UPS/FEDEX hazmat training is a plus but can be provided upon employment. Experience operating forklift trucks and stand-up reach trucks preferred. Applicant must be able to lift 40 lbs without restrictions, provide their own daily transportation, and pass a standard drug test in order to be eligible for hire. Compensation will be based upon level of experience and training.
